主講人簡(jiǎn)介

彭方正教授,美國(guó)工程院院士,IEEE會(huì)士,美國(guó)國(guó)家發(fā)明家科學(xué)院院士,曾就職于美國(guó)橡樹(shù)嶺國(guó)家實(shí)驗(yàn)室,擔(dān)任電力電子研發(fā)中心首席科學(xué)家,先后任教于東京工業(yè)大學(xué)、密歇根州立大學(xué)、佛羅里達(dá)州立大學(xué),現(xiàn)任匹茲堡大學(xué)講座主任教授、能網(wǎng)(智能電網(wǎng))研究所所長(zhǎng)。

彭方正教授主要從事大功率電力電子及其應(yīng)用、系統(tǒng)容錯(cuò)、自愈和彈性等研究,他開(kāi)創(chuàng)性地提出有源/虛擬電阻概念,率先開(kāi)展了多電平變換器與柔性交流輸電系統(tǒng)研究,發(fā)明了基于三角形連接模塊化多電平變換器的靜態(tài)同步補(bǔ)償器(Delta-connected MMC STATCOM)。他持有發(fā)明專(zhuān)利30余項(xiàng),發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文共400余篇(包括Nature Scientific Reposts 2篇和SCI 300多篇),論文總引用數(shù)達(dá)7萬(wàn)多次。他于2012年榮膺密歇根州立大學(xué)董事會(huì)授予的大學(xué)杰出教授稱(chēng)號(hào),在美國(guó)國(guó)會(huì)第118次會(huì)議上接受表彰。在斯坦福大學(xué)的全世界頂尖科學(xué)家排名榜上名列前茅、在電氣電子和能源等綜合領(lǐng)域中排全世界第4名。先后獲得IEEE Newell Award(電力電子領(lǐng)域最高獎(jiǎng)),IEEE Kliman Inventor Award,IEEE IAS Outstanding Achievement Award,幾十次優(yōu)秀論文獎(jiǎng)等。

Brief Introduction of Professor Peng Fangzheng

Professor Peng Fangzheng, Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, IEEE Fellow, and Fellow Member of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors, formerly served as Chief Scientist at the Power Electronics R&D Center of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and at the Technical Research Institute of Toyo Electric Manufacturing Corporation. He has held faculty positions at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, and Florida State University. Currently, he is the Chair Professor and Director of the Energy Grid (Smart Grid) Research Institute at the University of Pittsburgh.

Professor Peng's research primarily focuses on high-power electronics and its applications, including high-power motor drives and propulsion, grid control and intelligence, and in-depth studies on system fault tolerance, self-healing, and resilience. He pioneered the concept of active/virtual resistance and was among the first to conduct research on multilevel converters and flexible AC transmission systems. He invented the Delta-connected Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) and proposed the Impedance Source (Z-Source) concept, inventing Z-Source control technology. He holds more than 30 patents and has published over 400 academic papers (including 2 in Nature Scientific Reports and over 300 SCI-indexed papers), with a total citation count exceeding 70,000 and an H-index of 106. In 2012, he was honored with the prestigious University Distinguished Professor title by the Michigan State University Board of Trustees and was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the 118th U.S. Congress. He ranks among the top scientists globally in Stanford University's rankings and is ranked 4th worldwide in the comprehensive fields of electrical, electronics, and energy. He has received numerous awards, including the IEEE Newell Award (the highest honor in power electronics field), the IEEE Kliman Inventor Award, the IEEE IAS Outstanding Achievement Award, and dozens of excellent paper prize awards.
