程亦凡,美國(guó)藝術(shù)與科學(xué)院院士、美國(guó)國(guó)家科學(xué)院院士,武漢大學(xué)杰出校友(2020年)?,F(xiàn)任霍華德·休斯醫(yī)學(xué)研究所(Howard Hughes Medical Institute, HHMI)研究員、加州大學(xué)舊金山分校(UCSF)生物化學(xué)與生物物理學(xué)系教授。
程亦凡實(shí)驗(yàn)室專(zhuān)注于利用冷凍電鏡解析生物大分子結(jié)構(gòu),尤其是膜蛋白與動(dòng)態(tài)復(fù)合物的分子機(jī)制。此外,開(kāi)發(fā)冷凍電鏡技術(shù)以推動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)生物學(xué)發(fā)展也是其團(tuán)隊(duì)的長(zhǎng)期研究方向。實(shí)驗(yàn)室的里程碑成果包括:開(kāi)發(fā)校正電子束誘導(dǎo)圖像運(yùn)動(dòng)的算法,以及通過(guò)單顆粒冷凍電鏡技術(shù)首次解析了TRPV1離子通道的原子級(jí)結(jié)構(gòu)等。
程亦凡博士將電子檢測(cè)相機(jī)引入冷凍電鏡技術(shù),極大地推動(dòng)了單粒子冷凍電鏡從低分辨率提升至原子結(jié)構(gòu)測(cè)定,為該領(lǐng)域帶來(lái)了突破性的技術(shù)變革。發(fā)表 150 余篇論文及綜述文章,其中在《Nature》《Cell》《Science》等頂尖學(xué)術(shù)期刊上發(fā)表文章40 余篇。曾獲國(guó)際蛋白質(zhì)學(xué)會(huì)頒發(fā)的克里斯蒂安·B·安芬森獎(jiǎng)(2018年)
Brief Introduction of Professor Yifan Cheng
Dr. Yifan Cheng, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, is a Distinguished Alumnus of Wuhan University (2020). He currently serves as an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
The Cheng Laboratory focuses on using cryo-EM to resolve the structures of biological macromolecules, particularly integral membrane proteins and dynamic complexes. A long-standing goal of his team is the development of cryo-EM methodologies to advance structural biology. Landmark achievements include the development of algorithms to correct electron beam-induced image motion and the first atomic-resolution structure determination of the TRPV1 ion channel using single-particle cryo-EM. Throughout his career, Dr. Cheng has made transformative contributions to the field. By introducing electron-detecting cameras into cryo-EM technology, he dramatically advanced single-particle cryo-EM from low-resolution imaging to atomic-level structure determination, sparking a revolutionary breakthrough in the field. He has published over 150 research articles and reviews in leading life science journals, with over 40 appearing in top-tier journals such as Nature, Cell, and Science. He was awarded the Christian B. Anfinsen Award by the Protein Society in 2018.
